Decking materials

Composite decking

Wood-look boards that resist fading, staining and splintering — no sanding or staining required.

PVC decking

Fully synthetic, lightweight and highly moisture-resistant; a great choice near pools and shady yards.

Pressure-treated wood

The budget-friendly classic that can be stained to any color.

Cedar & hardwoods

Natural beauty and warmth for homeowners who love real wood.

Designed for how you’ll use it

We plan your deck around the way you’ll use it: room for a dining table and grill, a quiet corner for seating, wide stairs to the yard, and multi-level designs on sloped lots. Add aluminum, cable or composite railings, built-in benches, privacy screens, pergolas and low-voltage lighting.

Decks in Northern Virginia generally require a permit, with footings set below the frost line and code-compliant ledger attachment, guards and stairs — and most HOAs require approval too. We take care of all of it. Unlock your savings →

“This was my first time remodeling anything. I hired ABC for a kitchen remodel. They designed a beautiful kitchen with a huge island. I didn’t have an island before and I love how it all came out. They were patient with me with choosing all the material.”

Do I need a permit to build a deck in Northern Virginia?

Most decks require a building permit from your county or city, and HOA approval is common. We prepare the drawings and handle the submissions and inspections.

Composite or wood — which is better?

Composite costs more up front but needs far less maintenance and won’t splinter or rot. Wood costs less initially and has a natural look, but needs regular sealing or staining.

Can you replace my old deck?

Yes. We remove and dispose of the old deck, check the ledger and footings, and build a new deck that meets current code.
